About

Johnny finds himself between the two worlds of filmmaker and restaurateur. Both passions have allowed him to creatively push the envelope, raise the bar and dabble in new trends.

Australian-born to Lebanese migrants, food, hospitality and bringing people together is part of Johnny’s DNA. Sharing his restaurant responsibilities with his brother, together they have built a myriad of high profile, award-winning venues across Brisbane.

Johnny has honed his filmmaking craft around the best for years and is never afraid to push the boundaries of what he can capture with a lens. His direction employs a diverse range of mediums using live action and animation to project his vision.

He delights in finding inspirational images from times gone by and in hunting down the most obscure and intoxicating locations. Johnny thrives on the adventure, and you can find him rowing a boat, hiking through the bush, driving to extremely remote places, walking into ‘no access’ points in collapsing buildings and scouting obscure destinations in search of the perfect location.

Johnny has worked predominantly throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific region shooting TV advertisements, corporate videos, and documentaries for clients such as the Papua New Guinean Government, Australian Government (DFAT), Twisties, Digicel, Ergon Energy, Samoa Tourism, Sony Music and many more. Johnny has directed documentaries about PNG’s founding father, Sir Michael Somare and another on Japanese soldiers in Papua New Guinea during World War Two, which was presented to the Emperor and Government of Japan.
